This is a mechanical laser projector that uses persistence of vision to create a stationary image. Most components were fabricated on a 3-axis CNC machine, with flat components laser cut using the Fablight laser cutter. COTS hardware, including shafts and the hardware grip, is supplemented where necessary. The stand was made on a CO2 laser and bent using the acrylic heater. Finally, a 3D-printed laser mount uses a compliant joint mechanism made from Alloy 910 plastic to allow repeatable laser positioning.
